personality: Standing at almost six feet and six inches, one might assume Corbin's personality would demand the same attention that his height so effortlessly earns him. But this is not the case. This puppy-eyed intern has a disposition that does not quite match up with the towering frame of his body; he is of a very mild temperment, very rarely raising his voice above average speaking level unless the situation absolutely warrants that he do otherwise. He possesses a dry, quick sense of humor, a genuine desire to help people and an above-par level of intelligence that allowed him to skip grades in school. However, because of the teasing he endured by his peers throughout his childhood, he has a strong tendency to conceal or hide his natural aptitude, oftentimes acting much dumber than he actually is. Of course, if an emergency or a situation of great import arises where he can be of some help, he is quick to drop his charade and aid in solving the problem. He becomes nervous around fires after a lab experiment in seventh grade resulted in his arm being set aflame by a careless classmate.
history: Corbin grew up in a traditional upper-middle-class household in suburban Illinois. He was the oldest of three children, each spaced almost exactly two years apart. The middle child, Kayla, was severely emotionally disturbed, and like many older siblings Corbin assumed the role of guardian over her and his youngest brother when his parents were either at work or busy in other parts of the house. Kayla tended to respond better to Corbin than to her own parents... not because the Calumets were neglectful towards their children in any way, but because Corbin always seemed to know how to calm his sister's sometimes violent outbursts.
From a very young age, Corbin exhibited signs of possessing an intelligence that was far beyond his years. In elementary school, he was permitted to skip ahead two grades when he was only in first grade, and so was on the receiving end of much of the older kids' bullying. But he was not without friends, and so endured his days as the school geek, perservering well into junior highschool. However, as he was entering highschool his body quite suddenly shot upwards. He didn't mind so much when he was finally taller than the girls in his grade... yet when he became taller than most of his teachers, it became a bit of a problem. His gangly limbs and possession of hands and feet that were much too large for him were just another reason for his peers to hastle him. Around school, he became known as 'the Scarecrow'... even his own friends started calling him it.
The combined teasing of both his height and his academic achievements finally led Corbin to acknowlege both things with shame. He began to deliberately answer questions on his tests incorrectly and neglected to do his assignments on time. The sudden plunge in his GPA concerned his parents, teachers and friends alike, but he paid them little heed. This continued all throughout highschool right up until he graduated, and even after that he showed little interest in persuing a college education. Against the protests of his family and friends, he decided not to go, and began work right out of highschool for a telemarketing agency.
Corbin worked for the company for a year and a half until he received news that Kayla had killed herself. After her funeral, Corbin wasted no time in registering for college Psychology courses, eager to learn and help people like his sister. He was beyond excited when he was accepted to begin his internship at Chesire Crossing... he had heard that the patients there were extraordinary, to say the least, and jumped at the opportunity to work there.

On a more serious note, Chesire Crossing is definitely living up to its reputation. The cases here are just... completely fascinating. I really can't wait to get my hands dirty. Or however that phrase goes. It could be 'I really can't wait to get my hands wet', but... that sounds perverse.
